Aidell’s Italian Style Sausage & Green Beans

OK, all- in keeping with easy low carb day, I’ve included all my meals today so you can see how simple this can be. Granted, my plating is atrocious and this is not gourmet in terms of exotic ingredients and advanced technique, but it is yummy and nutritious, and yes- satisfying! Today’s afternoon extra was sugar free licorice. I had 4 at 1 gr carb each, and I am paying for it now with extreme and unpleasant gastric distress. NOT worth it!! But back to something that IS worth it- tonight’s 7 minute dinner. Aidell’s chicken sausage links ( this is the Italian style) tossed up with fresh, not canned, green beans.

Drizzle sauté pan with olive oil, and if you like onions and mushrooms, sauté them lightly, then add a pat of butter. It won’t hurt, I promise. When that’s looking good and starting to carmelize, add your sliced sausage- get that sizzling, add beans- stir- fry a bit. Add some garlic powder or spices you enjoy- preferably of the Italian persuasion. Pour about 1/4 water in the pan, pop a lid on it- steam those beans in there for about 3-5 mins on medium. Enjoy. A serving is 1 sausage and 1/2 cup beans. This will be about 4-5 gr carbs. Dbl the amount, dbl. the carbs- your choice. Yum!! I included the photo, but it does the dish no justice. I didn’t have onion or mushrooms, or a red bell pepper, but if you do, they would make this dish even better!
